GENOSSEN WERE FOUNDED IN REUTLINGEN, SOUTHWEST GERMANY. THE FAST HARDCORE-PUNK OF GENOSSEN WITH ITS ENGAGED, LEFTIST GERMAN LYRICS SOON DEVELOPED A BIG FAN COMMUNITY ALL OVER GERMANY. AFTER SEVERAL TOURS THROUGH GERMANY GENOSSEN WERE THE FIRST WESTERN PUNKBAND TO PLAY A SOCIALIST COUNTRY, HUNGARY IN 1985. IN 1989 THE BAND SPLIT AND WERE FOLLOWED BY SUMPFPÄPSTE.
